I work with D 6.4 and CCK. I made a custom content type with 3 custom fields ( more to come). Now I made 2 groups. So far so good. But then I wanted to assign the fields to the groups but under manage fields there is no column "groups" as I am used to have in D 5. Am I missing something here? I use the latest Devel. Version of CCK.

click "configure" for the field on the "manage fields" tab-- there will be a drop down for choosing the group.

Maybee I am blind, but I cannot see it. There is Label, widget type, size of textfield, help text but no group. In D 5 it was on the manage fields table. Has this changed in D 6 ( well, obviously, otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned it).

go edit your field again and there should be a dropdown menu with the groups....

u made the groups after u made the fields so they may not have appeared at first

click edit type, then manage fields, then configure the field, then Display in group:

Ok, now I know where I have to look, but unfortunately there is nothing. I can add and edit groups etc... Do I have to enable something in modules especially?

you dont edit groups you select the group for the field...u edit the group from its configuration link

each content type has its own set of groups; have you made any groups?

Yes I did. I made 3 groups. That was an error what I wrote about editing groups, of course you're right. I can see the groups ( they are bold compared to the fields) in manage fields.

OK, I found the problem. It had to do with the dev version of CCK. I installed the RC6 and it worked. Now I wonder what does not work anymore, because I used the Dev version, because something didn't work with the RC6.
