Issue Summary

I keep loosing track of which forms I modified...
I may have had a need to hide a useful field years ago,
and now I am not even aware that it was there. Would it
be possible to provide a page linking to all modified forms?
Thank you for this useful module!

You can now see this in the manage tab in the forms, And you can revert any form to its original state on the same screen.

Where exactly is this? /admin/build/formdefaults provides a single option to enable/disable the form defaults editor, but I see no Manage tab and no list of forms that have been altered.

#5

Are you using 6.x-2.x-dev? I do indeed see the Manage tab (in attachment)
but overridden forms are not listed, and are not found when searching
for overriding text.

Sorry for the confusion the form defaults manage tab searches by form name. If you put a % in (wildcard). It will search and find all forms. I'll make this the default and put some language in the search box that explains this more clearly.

#7

Next snapshot will default to showing all modified forms on manage tab.

#8

Oh, and mrtoner, you may need to visit administer menus to make sure youre menu cache is rebuilt so that you see the manage tab.

#9

No, sorry. The project page for Form Defaults doesn't list dev releases, like other projects, so I missed that version. I've installed it now and see the appropriate controls.

I will note, though, that the Manage tab is not as useful as it could be. When first selecting it, I get a search field and button, with no list of modified forms. Only when I search for something (how do I know what the form is called?) do I get a selection of modified forms.

Subsequent trips to the Manage tab retain the last search parameter and it's not possible to clear the search field. I prefer that the Manage tab show all my modified forms, with the ability to filter the list using the search field. But thanks for the feature, even as it currently stands.

[Update] Whoops! I just noticed that you had some other replies since your initial response. Just answered my concerns. BTW, I modified your instructions for the module: :-)

"To alter the default labels and text descriptions associated with a form, enable the form defaults editor below. Navigate to the form you wish to modify and click the [edit] link on the field you want to edit. You'll be allowed to edit field titles and markup fields (like this one), as well as the textual descriptions for each field. It's also possible to add form elements and hide those already present.

"Use the controls above to manage those forms you've modified."

Thanks for pointing out that my dev releases weren't advertised. They are now.

I also added the clearer instructions that you provided for the next release.
