Probably not. A large part of the work on this AMI is tuning and configuring the various app services. Maintaining that across multiple distributions would be an issue. The AMI uses Fedora Core because that's what we use on our Elastic2 clusters. If we were to change to another distro, then this AMI would likely change as well.
