I think that Asset 5.x-2 had very great UI, much better than the 5.x-1 version.
Will you implement a better interface for Asset 5.x-1 in the near future? What are the development plans (roadmap) for the Asset module?
I think Media Mover integration is a very important feature. Would be great, if users able to create playlist from assets via a simple interface (like in youtube).

I already started a post about the future of the asset module on groups.drupal.org, feel free to drop in there as well.

The development plans for the asset module are to get a stable 1.0 version out the door, which is going very well. Release candidate 2 is expected next week by the latest and I'm not expecting an RC3. Once 1.0 hits the door we can start on a Drupal 6 port. After this we can start on features that were available in the 2.0 version, one by one. One of the most important changes will be the improved GUI, along with more and better themable functions and hooks.

The asset module already provides integration with the media_mover module and you are always free to submit feature requests to either the asset or media_mover project.
