Description

I've just updated to link module's DRUPAL-5--2-3-1 version from DRUPAL-5--2-3 (via CVS, also using CVS Deploy). The Update Status overview however shows that I have "5.x-2.3-1" running and it suggests that I should run "5.x-2.3.1" instead. Look that the only difference is punctuation.

http://drupal.org/handbook/cvs/branches-and-tags/contributions says the tag should be [CoreCompatibility]--[Major]-[PatchLevel]<-Extra> and that DRUPAL-6--2-0-BETA1 would end up as 6.x-2.0-beta1, so it looks like punctuation generated by cvs deploy is fine. Looks like the drupal.org site has wrong punctuation for some reason and/or the release creator did a wrong release. I am not entirely sure where to submit this report to be honest.

Hrm, yeah. See #290490: Number in "extra" field needs '.' for separator, not '-'. I just reopened that. I don't know where the bug is, either, so I don't fault you for not knowing where to submit this or where to search for dupes. ;)
