vB has a nice feature that pops up the start of the topic when you hover on the topic list. Assigning this to myself for the to do list, but I don't know js so would welcome someone else stepping up to help.

check out lightbox2... It has code to do this stuff... included tokens too:)

lightbox2 is also very well documented...

I think lightbox is overkill for this... This is more of a "tooltip" sort of thing.
