CMS Winner

Following the good idea in this old node I did a quick survey about all the 2008 Packt finalists CMS on Alexa (vote for Drupal link).
I know Alexa is not perfect but it's encouraging for Drupal, so here it is:

Who is the winner, hmm?

Now, if he is not the winner at Packt, it might mean that the communication wasn't so good within the Drupal community, or people knew about it ... but didn't vote.
I don't throw any stone since I voted today :)

CMS trends

Of course, I couldn't resist to redo (almost) the same comparision than in 2005.
I kept the most active websites (based on alexa numbers) and removed the wiki.
I kept Wordpress blog, since you can use it for CMS website use (at least in people mind).
I know phpBB is a forum, but again, people use it to try-to-manage-content (I tested all of these for my various websites).

Here are the 6 months graph and 1 month graph .

First trend:
Globally, according to Alexa, all Open Source CMS are descending! (except for PHPNuke which I thought was dead but seems to revive since May, see second trend).
What does it means? Do people are fed up with free, open and vibrant open source code?
I really wonder ...

Second trend:
PHP-Nuke is more popular than ever! But their last version (8.1) was out in August 2007 (and copyright footer is 2000-2006) WOW!
Did they found a way to cheat Alexa?
How to explain that all other CMS are downward and this one is upward without no major release or news?

Third trend:
Wordpress lost a lot!
If somebody knows why ...
I didn't follow news on this one.

Forth trend:
People do like testing stuff around May 21 - June 15 ...
Funny!

Fifth trend:
Drupal has a more stable popularity than others. Yeah!
But still, it's not violently going up.

Sixth trend:
On the 1 month graph, you can see that Drupal is going above Joomla and Wordpress in the last days.
I have nothing against these 2 (since I use them too), but it's interesting.
Do people switch from Joomla, Wordpress to Drupal?

Conclusion

:
Well all this is according to one (Alexa) survey, so it's not pure truth.
It might be a good time to explain people how to convert Joomla and Wordpress content to Drupal.
...
End of the (very marketing or evangelism) presentation meeting folks, you can dismiss :)

It was just fun to do it, don't blame me, it's my first post.
