When i add a second Relation type i became this error:
user warning: Duplicate entry '' for key 2 query: INSERT INTO buddylist_relationtypes (mname, name, oneway, backrelation, active) VALUES ('', 'Fan', 1, 1, 1) in /var/www/web3/html/includes/common.inc on line 3318.

same problem.
in sql request module always set '' for key `mname`. (so, where the field to enter Machine Readable Name of rtype??)
i added new relation type by hand in my sql table :(
