Using 5.x-1.0-beta2
Correct access given in access control to users to maintain and view buddylist.
If user goes to /buddylist they get access denied.
If invited they go to URL /buddylist/UID#/buddies/requests and they can get in.
One weird thing: in the Access control page, there is a heading for "buddylist_ui module" but this has NO roles/permissions with no checkboxes to select in order to give users access to UI
With the UI installed, the /buddylist page has addirional tabs, one of them (the first from left) says 'Buddylist'.. Clicking this tab does not take you to any new page, it is as if it's not active.. The link this tab is pointing to is /buddylist.. There is another tab, the 3rd from left, it says 'My Buddies' This one also points to /buddylist
If I uninstall buddylist UI people then can access /buddylist.
This issue is with Buddylist UI: (buddylist_ui.module,v 1.6.4.7 2008/08/02 09:04:54)

crizhi,
is this also the case if you enable the module on a fresh install? there is something wrong with your buddylist ui menus. make sure you have not http://drupal.org/project/buddylist installed!

ethanre commentedIn fact I do have buddylist installed along with buddylist2. I had to install buddylist because the CCK Field Privacy and BuddyList Activity modules require it.
Does buddylist activity work with buddylist2?

crizThese are no buddylist2 issues, please file an issue in the relevant issue queues. Buddylist2 integration should be no big problem, because db tables remains the same...
Do you mean the activity module? There is already a patch for Buddylist2: http://drupal.org/node/221157
Using buddylist AND buddylist2 is NOT recommended!
