I really appreciate it to present the website to you in this forum. And I am curious about your comments.

I was using a "WEB 1.0" frameset website for four years to present fishing images of my friends and me. Because of the rising amount of images and some problems with the frame navigation (links from other websites!), I decided to switch. It was a tough job to find a solution. I read a lot about Typo3, Joomla and drupal. The most positive things were about (guess :-D) .... drupal. I started to learn basic things about drupal, then learned CSS vis W3schools and started.

To convert everything from the former website to the new one I needed 6 months of work. I wanted to implement some interesting stuff I will show to you in a second. Now, I am really happy with drupal. I works, wohooo ! To show that I really like drupal, I left the small blue button on my page. It will stay there as support !

Things I needed to post at least one thread in the drupal forums about to make it work :-D :

1. I wanted a page, everyone could leave his/her URL at. The URL was meant to be added to a list when submitted. I used "VIEWS" to do it. If you like click "Links | Link eintragen" on wefish.de.

2. I thought a background image that randomly switches for the frontpage was a good idea. I realized it with YOUR HELP ! (again forum thread)

3. My friends sent their images to me via mail for years. I thought this was oldfashioned. I used "IMCE-module" to give everyone with the right password the chance to fill a 40mb folder with his/her pics. Wonderful and easy !

At the moment I use guestbook-module, counter-module, captcha-module, taxonomy-browser-module, menu-breadcrumb-module, views-module, IMCE-module .... and each one is amazing !

Hi,
i would really love to find many images and nodes of wefish.de indexed in different search engines.

  • To achieve this, i worked hard on labeling all important photos with <title> and <alt> tags.
  • Furthermore every node has a unique URL-Alias now!
  • Plus i did something about the look of the website, making significant changes in CSS.


Do you like http://www.wefish.de? (content mostly in german)
Is "Search Engine Optimization" ok?

Please support the development of wefish.de with a few posts.
