I'm trying to get an idea whether this module is likely to be maintained in the future or whether it was built for a specific purpose and now is low priority for the developers involved. Could you please give some general indication?
I came across Exhibit recently and it would be a perfect solution for our site. We still will be on D5 for some time, so I'm trying to figure out what the best way forward is...built something custom around Exhibit or port this back and either contribute it here or as a separate module.

This module is still being maintained and developed and is considered fairly high priority for the developers currently maintaining it. There has been no discussion of a D5 backport.
