'hide title' for panel_page title not working

In the settings tab there is a field 'title' (I'll call title.A). Under layout settings tab, there is another one (I'll call title.B) and a check box 'hide title'.

I was under the impression that title.B overwrote title.A and that if you selected 'hide title' NO title would appear?

However, what I get is that title.A if set, shows, if empty, the displayed title is "no title" and this happens regardless of if there is / isn't a title set in title.B or if the checkbox for 'hide title' is selected.

Is there a patch to make 'hide title' work?
