Update Problem from 5.x-1.7 to 5.x.1.9

I am running drupal version 5.10 and attempted to update to CCK version 5.x.1.9

I downloaded the 5.x.1.9 zip on my mac, unzipped it and used filezilla to ftp it to my server. I usually delete the existing CCK mod folder and then FTP the new version. When I reenabled all of the cck mods, I then updated DB with update.php

However, the update status showed that I was still in version, 5.x.1.7 :(

Tried it several more times and even with 5.x.1.8 but got same result.
