Punctuation characters that needed to be replaced or removed aren't so we ended up with things like "..." or "- ---" in the URL.

What we tried in order to get pathauto to automatically change the URL is find a page that has a dodgy URL and click 'Edit' then 'Save' to apply this filter but nothing happened.

Could we be doing something wrong or is this a bug in the code?

Thanks for reporting your experiences with Pathauto. Did you implement any of the punctuation settings from the admin/build/path/pathauto ?

Those should fix it.

Also, the "Assigned" field is for the person who plans to fix the issue. If you don't plan to fix it you should unassign yourself.
