Issue Summary
It'd also be nice to set which status is the default for all untouched days....right now it is 'available' but for some uses, I'd like the client to have no dates set as available and then choose which day(s) they are available.
And also set what each of the statuses mean (change the defaults).

I like that idea, probably on a per node basis, right? See #306461: Custom availability states and legend for the setting of statuses, I think on a site-wide basis.
#2
yup, those are all my suggestions....I just thought I should put them in separate feature requests.
I look forward to seeing this module evolve. I'll seek out some sponsorship from it on my projects to PAY you to make it even better!

Initial commit of this feature will be in the newest dev http://drupal.org/cvs?commit=472016
I am marking as needs work because I still want to make it configurable per content type, not just sitewide and per node.

We will likely finish off this feature in 1.x then push to 2.x.

If I understand this request correctly, it is already available in the 6.x-1.5 as well as 6.x-2.x and 7.x-2.x branch. IMO, Settings per content type is a different request and is better reported in a separate issue.
