Is there a way to have the errors recorded so if on a check of the page cron page, the user can quickly see what the errors are instead of needing to go to the logs on the server where that cron is (in many cases of shared hosting, the logs are not accessible to the end users).

The errors returned by the cron check, is just a check of being able to reach the remote cron.php.
The next tool in the admintools - set, would be a distributed status report and maybe an update report as well.
I admit the need for it, since I'm running several drupal instances, which are all multisite drupal installs.
Just find the time to start with it. :)
