I've installed and been using the Mass Contact module with great success. One useful feature would be to record somewhere against a user if their email bounced when a mass email was sent to them.

Somewhere within the Drupal admin there could be a report/log option for Mass Contact which will then give a list of all users who's emails bounced on the last mass sent email.

Usually, that sort of information would be sent from the e-mail server to the e-mail address in the from field of the message, and not to the website, nor in response to the sender of the e-mail.

One possible solution would be using a from address that is then linked to the site via some sort of mail list to forum functionality (for example), and then processing those posts as necessary.
