Issue Summary
I have received an update_status message to update notify. Currently I'm running 1.x-dev and not 1.1, as the release notes adviced.
Now I noticed that there's a new dev-version with the same publication date. Furthermore, the 2.x-dev version has both newer and older files than the 1.x-dev version. So I am a bit confused and reluctant to update to 2.x.
Can anyone help out?

For the moment I'd say stay with the 1.x-dev version. I don't think there's a 2.x version. Hopefully there will be a 1.2 release soon (see #148454).
