The ajax form is working great, when I switch to French, the button appears and I am allowed to translate anything visible.

But there is no way to save the translation. I see no save button, and as soon as I move to another field, the translation I just typed is lost. What am I missing?

Looks like you have solved it. No feedback in a month, nobody reported a similar issue so far.
