Uploading/importing multiple images

Hello,
I just downgradet to Drupal 5 to be able to use MAQUM and now I'm wondering if there's any possiblity to upload multiple images into a (normal, taxonomy based) gallery at once. "Image Import" of image module doesn't work because the node types have to be "MAQUM" - and of course, "image import" imports images as node type "image" :)
Any suggestions to do that?

Sorry, none.
Thought importing more than one image at a time (either by uploading a single zip of images) or a directory that is watched (via cron) and uploaded to via (S)FTP is a feature I'd like to add in the future.
