TRouble logging into CVS

Hi,

I have applied for CVS access, and as best i can tell, been granted it.
However, i lost email for over a week, due to a misconfigured sendmail config (my fault!)

Now, I have read everything i can put my hands on, but trying to login via the User/Pass
i registered w/ i get 'no such user cainan in CVSROOT/passwd'.

If i tryt to re-register, Drupal informs me i have already registered for access.

Dreis is a busy guy, so i am hoping someone else who helps administer CVS can help me.

I already have 4-5 modules written that i woudl love to make available.

teamspeak.module (teamspeak viewer(s) in blocks)
gameq.module (allows for creating game stats pages using gameq)
sudo.module (assume other users/anonymous user ID for multi-user/multi role development)
regex_filter.module (regex filtering on content.)
flexinode_filter.module (regex filtering against flexinode fields.)

Any answer to Cainan's question? I am having the same problem. I applied for CVS account weeks ago and have a module to contribute.

Also, is there an anonymous CVS account you can use for just checking out the latest from CVS?

The magic of getting a cvs-account

I had the same problem about a month ago. I only received a mail saying that my request was granted and that I would get an account. I did then not receive anything more. I think it took 4-5 weeks before it worked. (But my last struggle was that somehow my normal password was automagically (well not exactly :-) assigned to the cvs account when I applied. I requested a new one and then the passwords were out of sync.) So please be patient... Suddenly it just works... :-)

Regarding exactly how to either use the anonymous login or our own, the following page is good:

I have seen http://drupal.org/node/1002 but I cannot see how I can connect anonymously. Did I miss the password for the anonymous acount?

Well,

there is no password, so either you leave it blank or you enter anything. So "anonymous" as password is OK.

Its been some time since my first post, and still no love.

Can someone who has CVS access, ping me, and tell me what steps they followed to get into CVS, so that i might have better luck?

Sorry for all the difficulty. I wonder whether you have CVS account. I suspect you do not. I am not aware of a place where you can check. They do send an email when you are approved, but it takes a while.

I ended up being granted CVS access, I think because Boris Mann encountered a post of mine elsewhere, where I described my predicament. In the end, the turn around time was about 4-5 weeks I think.

It sounds like you have some great modules so I hope you will be patient with the process. Boris Mann has stated that he is trying to streamline this process so you might bring this to his attention.

I hate to complain. but its been 10 weeks since i posted this.
I still get an error trying to log in with my CVS userid/passwd i requested. I still have the email stating i was approved..

Can someone please take mercy upon me, and help me fix the login issue?

I also applied for an account, was approved - but never recieved logon details.

I am prevented from reapplying for a CVS account as it says I already have one.

I'll forward this to the infrastructure list and hopefully someone can figure out what happened - Thanks!

Hi guys,

I just got a CVS account and have been successful so far checking things out. I haven't committed anything yet. Here's two things that got me.

1) When you originally signed up you all ready put in a password. http://drupal.org/cvs-account. So no further login details will be coming. You should go to http://drupal.org/node/319 for further help. I'm not sure what you do if you forgot the password.

2) The username is all lower case.
