Lattitude & Longitude always overrides Postcode or address settings [#307517]

I've finally got gmap set up to display maps for my client who wanted to have many venue nodes set up to display a map for each.

However I cannot get the map to provide a correct location. It appears that everytime I enter a Postcode, the Gmap assigns automtically a lattitude and longitude of 0. Likewise if I set a lattitude and longitude - which then works correctly – once the postcode is further edited this L&L never changes.

Please can somebody help, two days of trying different configurations have come to nothing and I am at my wits end!

I have only ever managed to get correct positioning using the long/lat positioning. Would love to get postcode working

I use the Location module to get an address based on Street (+ optional number), City and Country.
This gives me an approximate location that is usually good enough. I need the address for certain views (for example, grouping on City).
If the location isn't accurate enough, I edit the node and give an exact location with the small gmap widget.

I'd love it if I could click on the map in the first place, and it gives me the nearest street or at least the city.
