Compatibility with other search related modules

Hi Robert,

I understand the idea of this module, but not the inner workings of where the 'hooks are located', hence one general and one specific question.

1) Does enabling this module effectively sideline/bypass/disable other search modules?

2) Specifically, would the search_block module be ignored?

search_block allows selected content types to be excluded from [content] search results or indexing (I'm not sure which).

Sorry if this is a daft question but it's not obvious to me and thanks for any assistance.
