Having set up and enabled securepages, everything appears to work fine. However, I then selected the 'Disabled' option in its configuration and did a Save. I then logged off, killed all browsers, cleared browser cookies, restarted Apache etc.

Now, when I do a login, it takes me in unsecured mode to the login page, which is correct. However, after successfully logging in it then uses secure mode to display the user account page. This is not the behaviour I would expect, i.e. it should remain in insecure mode. I can't get it to remain insecure on any of the matching pages.

Ideas?

Probably $base_url needs to be removed from settings.php.
