I've got 4 CCK Taxonomy fields on one node type. Under Advanced Settings, I've unchecked "Hide default taxonomy fields on the node form" for all of them, since the help text on this setting says hiding the defaults for one taxonomy field affects all taxonomy fields on a node. Even so, when I set the defaults for one of my terms, it keeps getting erased; when I re-edit the field, the defaults are gone. I've tried it with Taxonomy Tree and Autocomplete. This may be a bug.
Enabled Modules:
Content Taxonomy, Content Taxonomy Autocomplete, Content Taxonomy Options, Content Taxonomy Tree.
(*NOT Taxonomy Defaults )

Johnnyk commentedI'm experiencing an similar thing:
I have a Content Taxonomy Field with a default value. I hide the taxonomy values. And normal users are not allowed to edit the taxonomy terms.
My plan is, that some specific content types get a default taxonomy term everytime they are created.
Maybe its a permissions problem - users are not allowed to edit taxonomy terms. But maybe its the same bug carole is experiencing.
Thank you

mh86 commentedthere is an issue where we are working on that.
at the moment it's not possible to have content taxonomy and taxonomy fields on your content type, you would have to choose between one of those two. (this conflict only exists if 'save values additionally to the taxonomy system" is selected)
Marking as duplicated because of the other issue.

jvieille commentedIs this restriction still apply (not mixing content taxonomy and taxonomy fields?)
Because my default values don't save
