In Order to get pageroute to display correctly with my users, I have to enable "administer nodes" in Administer => Access control. This also activates many other user privileges that I don't want the roles to have. I looked all over and I can't see anyone else reporting a similar issue, so perhaps I am missing something? Does anyone know how I can grant access to view, create and update the content-type displayed in the pageroute without granting access to "administer nodes"?

I was able to use the content_access module. I installed and went to Administration => access control then down to the new section called content_access_module and I selected "grant own content access" for the roles that needed it and it solved my problem.
