I think I copied the files in correctly, but I get this message when I try to place it on a node:

phpFreeChat cannot be initialized, please correct these errors:

* filemtime php fuction is not usable on your filesystem. Please do not use the 'file' container (try the 'mysql' container) or swith to another filesystem type.

Try the current version (1.2, just uploaded). If you still get the error about filemtime, then I'd say it's something peculiar to your system.

Make sure you fully uninstall all previous versions before installing the new version, and clear your browser's cache, too.
