The readme states:

Note: As of now, you need not install Wysiwyg module. Wysiwyg Editor module
is sufficient.

I don't understand this.

By "install", do you mean enable? There is only a Wysiwyg Editor in the module list after the module has been installed?

Yes, that is true. It's there, because I do not know whether or when wysiwyg module will appear in this list. Maybe never, maybe not. Depends on other developers in this project.

I understand that users might be confused, but I do not really want to remove this note due to this situation.

Let me know what you think, please. And thank you for reviewing all of this from a different perspective! :)

Personally, I wouldn't confuse users with anything that is not currently in place.

To be honest, this is the way I use a module (actually any piece of software). I read the features and benefits. Then, to determine if it is still alive, I review the supported version, the age of the most recent version, and the current list of all support requests.

Then I download and install "everything" given to me in the download. (who am I to assume that something in the download is (or is not) required. Then I turn on "most everything" based on the module description (and forced dependencies) on the Module Activation page. If a description doesn't rock me, and it's not required, I leave it off for the time being.

So, all that said, if the Wysiwyg module was not available, I would have not wasted any time trying to figure it out (and I wouldn't have missed it - quite honestly I still don't because I don't know what it would or could do for me).

So, if I were you I wouldn't even mention it. In the future, when it exists, if it is required, you simply force the requirement on the Module Activation page similar to image_assist requiring image.
