Have i missed a setting where the primary/secondary/etc link can open in parent or _blank?

Is this never going to be addressed?
Seems like a obvious requirement to add this to the properties of a menu item. For example a secondary links menu may contain links to facebook or twitter profile and most clients don't want links that take users to other sites to open in the current window/tab. Duh.
