Description
I am curious to know if this will allow a user to autoamtically click on a button and request linkedin profile (given a certain id and email address I guess) to be imported into a Drupal user profile ? I am assuming there will be a user validation path via a confirmation from an email sent to the users's said email inbox, as as to make sure the same user is requesting this and not someone else who just happens to know his friend's email id and username on linkedin ?
I am looking forward to this feature although I am not 100% sure my understanding of this module's benefits is the same as what this project is actually about.

Hello drupdrips,
This is a possible feature but has not been built yet in the current demo. I understand what you mean, but why would you want someone else's info to be displayed on your profile?

Hi Maverick,
almost lost track of this issue. I was at one point wanting to show linkedin profile for users on the site because the site was related to professionals discussing industry issues and was thinking if people writing on the forum could have a linked in profile link that would open up from my site. The solution that I ended up using was giving the users a profile field in their member sign up registration form to enter their public linkedin profile URL and I display that link using the public linkedinprofile button image available from the linked in site. so when you click on that image it goes to the user's public linked in profile page on the linkedIn site itself.

Good idea! Your solution indeed works fine with a profile link to the LinkedIn public page.
This works kinda the same as my intended solution for the Opensocial Container (where you should give your linkedin username/id).
Unfortunately development has slowed down the last months, due to a lack of time.
Still I hope to continue the development the coming months.
