Hi,
Once or twice I just wanted to write something nice to complement a module developer (publicly, rather than privately). Where should I do this? I intuitively wanted to put it in the issue queue, which that developer and other interested parties would naturally read (and perhaps others would second my comments), but this kind of comment does not fit under "bug report / feature request / task / support request" (or does it?). How would you suggest I go about something like this?
I would strongly support there being a easy way to facilitate and even encourage such complements because it's things like that which really motivate people to keep going and make them feel that all their work is worthwhile and appreciated.
Fletch.

killes@www.drop.org commentedyou could send the developer mail, you could blog about your user experience with the module, ...
It is possible that the redisign process will come up with a way for drupal.org to display such testimonials.

danithaca commentedHi Fletch,
Currently we are working on the "pivots" recommendation system as one of the d.o. redesign projects. It displays related forum discussions on a module page. So, if you post your testimony on any d.o. forum, it will automatically display on the module page too.
The "pivots" code is waiting in the issue queue to be deployed soon hopefully.
