Redirecting unauthorized users to login upon accesses protected content?

pacoverde - September 19, 2008 - 19:32

Can anyone suggest a method and/or module to redirect an anonymous user to a login page upon attempted access of an access-controlled page and then back to the originally requested page upon successful login?

I've looked at this thread:

Allow anonymous users to log in on access denied
http://drupal.org/node/24050

but there has been no activity on it since 2006 and the discussion centered around Drupal 4.x.

I've also tried the "Front Page" module, http://drupal.org/project/front and http://drupal.org/node/207921 without success.

I'm running Drupal 5.7 on top of Apache 2.2.9 and FreeBSD 6.2.

Have you tried http://drupal.org/project/path_redirect and/or http://drupal.org/project/login_destination? Another option might be http://drupal.org/project/workflow_ng.

FWIW, the "r4032login" module at http://drupal.org/project/r4032login is what finally worked for me.
