Changes since DRUPAL-5--1-1:
- #310430 Use drupal_http_request() instead of curl, so no more WSODs because of curl being unavailable.
- #280986 by Scott Falconer and myself, port to Drupal 6.x
- Proper D5 version in DRUPAL-5 tag. DRUPAL-6 code made it in by mistake.
