i can't create the first account.
when i fill all the blank ... i click the "create new account"
it seem like nothing happen at all
can any1 helpme?

There is a problem in your settings file your base url has a trailing slash.

I can't create the first account as well. After clicking to the link for new account creating, it sends me to the 403 Error Page. I checked for the access permission. Chmod to 710, but still won't work. Any suggestion for me? Thx in advance

Give a URL for you site... You shouldn't have to chmod anything except the files directory.

I have the same problem, can't create the first account. My situation is this:

$base_url = 'http://www.site.com/site';

Drupal directory= site.com/staff/crm

All I get when I click on "create account" is a blank directory index. The URL is http://www.site.com/site/?q=user/register.

Can anyone help?

thx for answering me. but it still won't work
mybase URL: $base_url = 'http://ik.mywebpage.net'
I only chmod my files directory, even to 777 but it send me to the same 404 Error page

I correct my mistake after carefully reading the information in the setting file, as well as Sami pointing out of mybase URL. I forgot to give the name of my subdir. I upload my dl to the "drupal directory" and so I have to set my URL

$base_url = 'http://ik.mywebpage.net/drupal'.

I hope it helps others with this reply

I ran into this on a Win box. I had my base url set up properly with
$base_url = 'http://localhost/drupal';

I corrected it by adding "index.php" to DirectoryIndex in my httpd.conf file :
DirectoryIndex index.html index.php
