For example, on this page: http://projectharambee.org/help_african_women/contact

How do I get it to show up at the bottom of the form, the logical place for it ?

Project: reCAPTCHA » CAPTCHA
Version: 4.7.x-1.0 » 4.7.x-1.x-dev
Component: reCAPTCHA Captcha » User interface

This is using the 4.7 version and I'm not sure how CAPTCHA works in Drupal 4.7.....

This is a known issue for the CAPTCHA module prior to 5.x-3.0.

As Drupal 4.7.x is unsupported now, it is very unlikely that this issue will be fixed for CAPTCHA 4.7.x-1.x,
especially now that the development of the CAPTCHA module is a bit stalled for the moment.
Also note that the priorities for CAPTCHA module development are CAPTCHA 5.x-3.x and CAPTCHA 6.x-1.x, and not older versions.

I would recommend upgrading to higher versions of Drupal (5 or 6)

I am using CAPTCHA 6.x-2.0 plus CAPTCHA Pack 6.x-1.0-beta3 and CAPTCHA appears on the BOTTOM of the Contact form (see attached image.)

at Weka: which theme are you using?
I can't reproduce with garland.
(can you try with garland too?)

Thank you for the quick response.
The screen shot was from Pixture Reloaded, but I get the same problem in Garland.
I will try to disable some other modules and see which one can be causing this.

How bizarre... I have disabled all modules, cleared cache and still have the issue even in Garland.
These modules are enabled:
Drupal 6.15: Block, Color, Comment, Contact, Database logging, Filter, Garland, Help, Menu, Node, Path, Statistics, System, Taxonomy, Update status, User

CAPTCHA 6.x-2.0: CAPTCHA, Image CAPTCHA

CAPTCHA Pack 6.x-1.0-beta3: ASCII art CAPTCHA

On a fresh install everything is okay.
Any suggestions what could be causing this?
I did not make any changes to core or contrib modules.

Also try with the simple math CAPTCHA or image CAPTCHA from the CAPTCHA module.
You could also try CAPTCHA 6.x-2.x-dev, but I doubt this would change something for your problem.
Is the CAPTCHA positioned correctly on other forms (e.g. comment, user registration, user login, node add)?
One possible cause (this is a wild guess, I never checked this) could be the weight of the CAPTCHA module, which is too low, so that it comes before the contact module or something. Can you check this in your "system" table in your database?

Thanks for the suggestions soxofaan.

I was getting same results with both math and image CAPTCHAs.
Both modules had the weight set to 0.

Disabling, uninstalling then enbabling the CAPTCHA module fixed the problem. I did not have to replace the files.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

ok, no problem. You're set then.

If there is no info on how to reproduce, I think it's better to reset this thread to the original settings
