i have a cent os with lamp setup 2.6.18-53.el5
the drupal installation keeps getting stuck on the db info during the installation
i dont get any error messages either (i am assuming its something to do with sql and sqli)
can someone help

Hmm.

Do you see anything in your mysql or webserver logs? Without some sort of error, this will be very hard to track.
