Really three feature requests. 1. other contact forms not user's, and 2 configured by content type rathere then user, and 3 configurable link display text. Together it would be nice if a link be made configureable to a specific contact form by content type rather then by user. ie ---all used equipment content types would be directed to the site contact form for used equipment inquiry and reference the specific node from which they inquired by hitting the link "inquire about this machine". This may not belong to this project, but it seemed almost all the elements were in place already.

This may be slightly outside the scope of this module, I'm not sure yet. As far as custom link text, thats an option to be provided from #294490: Custom Label for Contact Link which I hope to get to shortly. I could see an option here to allow the link destination to be specified, either as a specific user, or the general contact form, for the site, or a custom URL (such as a webform, or even a third party site).
The only part I'm not sure about, is a simple way to pass the node title or nid to the contact form, when clicking on the link. You may want to look into the Prepopulate module to help with that (http://drupal.org/project/prepopulate).
