Should there be any files in the public_html>sites>all>modules root folder? I keep contributed modules as subfolders but have notices many files here. Many pertaining to cck. I have not placed them here nor have I deleted them.

Reason I'm asking is that I have updated to the latest version of CCK for d5.10 and it is installed, but the update module list shows an error.

there should not be files in sites/all/modules related to any modules. Modules files should be self contained in their own subfolders within/sites/all/modules. Id back up the extraneous files and then remove them from the folder. I'd then check my site.

I'd also be curious as to names for the files themselves. I've been using CCK for quite some time and I've never seen it create files of any kind let alone in sites/all/modules
