Limit Tags in Drupal 6?

Does anyone know of a way to limit the number of free tags a user can use in Drupal 6?

Didi you ever find a solution to this? I know the Taxonomy Limit module does this but its only available for Drupal 5 and I need this functionality for Drupal 6
