This is an install file that when updating to Drupal 6, will properly set the 'simplemenu_menu' variable to 'navigation:0' if in Drupal 5 it was set to 1. This is the only reliable mapping I could think of, though i didn't do much looking. Personally, i've never used simplemenu with anything but the navigation menu so i would think that this would cover the majority of cases.
