Description
Hi, I like this module so my client won't have to get into the menu admin pages, but there also needs to be an easy way to delete the menu item. When I check Delete this menu item Auto Menu seems to override that setting. Same thing if I delete the menu title and check it.
Am I doing something wrong or is this just a missing feature?
Thanks.

The purpose of the auto menu is to avoid having nodes without a parent menu. So, either you set the menu manually or auto menu will do it for you.
Could you explain how would you want the module to act in your case?

Suppose I have a node that I need to unpublish from time to time. I need a simple way to remove that node from the menu while the node is unpublished. Unpublishing won't do it, and auto menu prevents me from deleting the menu item
Maybe automenu could check the status and enable/disable the menu item to match.
For now I'm just having the client change the menu parent to a parent that is never displayed anywhere, but that is an awkward solution.

Ok. This is easily doable and I can't see any undesirable side effects. I've submitted the changes to the development branch. Try tomorrow's (2008-Oct-02) snapshot and let me know your thoughts.

This modification is now included in stable release 5.x-1.1. Nobody complained so far. Closing as fixed.

Thank you. I have not had a chance to try it yet, but I will soon.

BTW: it's included in the new Drupal6 branch, too.

I did some very light testing and it works. Thanks again.
