There are 18 comments on the Profile module handbook page. These comments need to be reviewed. Comments should be used to update the executive summary or child pages should be added to explain the information.
We need volunteers to help with this small task.

Kobus commentedI have added one page to the documentation with regards to the profile module. The rest of the comments in there seems to be severely outdated. My page is awaiting moderation.

Kobus

Amazon commentedDo you want me to delete all the comments on that page? Do you want to pick certain comments that are no longer relevant and I'll help to delete them.

venkat-rk commentedI don't know about Kobus' page, but I looked at the comments and think they can be grouped and explained under one single child page:
Customising the profile module:
1.) Making a field part of the registration process
2.) Adding custom fields such as list, file upload, radio buttons etc
Additionally, I think it will be useful to have links to child page(s) of members.module for questions about listing users by role and avatars- both of these are functions are members.module. These links can be either on the home page of admin help for profile (easy visibility) or at the end of the child pages (less visibility)
Other than these, the remaining questions that may or may not deserve child pages in profile admin help are:
1.) Lisitng submissions by the 'name' value in the profile module rather than the 'username'- somewhat esoteric to me. Possible child page?
2.) Technique for accessing profile fields in other modules
3.) View/edit profiles by roles
Hope this helps.

Amazon commentedApproved the customizing profile page.
Kobus commentedI have done what the task required of me, so I believe that the issue can be closed as soon as (if) my page is approved. The comments that were relevant were incorporated into my page, and the rest were ignored. I think the comments can be deleted. I didn't want to do that though, before my page were approved (not even sure if I can delete stuff on the page).
@ramdak5000: your other mentioned issues are not relevant to this task, as this task is not about improving the page with new content, but to incorporate the comments of the page into the page itself, those that are still relevant to the document.

Kobus

Amazon commentedKobus I approved your page. I have asked for help to answer Ramdak's questions and will create a child page with the answers. I am going to delete the comments.
venkat-rk commentedKobus, I thought the overall objective was to improve admin help. So, my effort was in that direction.

drewish commentedLooking at the profile documentation, it looks like the new pages (HOWTO: Create new profile fields and HOWTO: Make a field part of the registration process) have been created and old comments deleted. Therefore, I'm mark this as closed.
