node add form not saving content?

i've set up a pageroute so that a user can create a profile (using content profile) as soon as they log in - simple one page node creation form. the route path is foobar with a page path of do-profile. no tabs are set up.

however, when i test out the pageroute, and i go to save the information, i get a 404. user has all correct permissions, and it doesn't even work for user 1. i've tried both foobar/ and also foobar/do-profile.

if i set up a redirection after the form to e.g. no node is created.

also, is subform element still a dependency for 6, the only place i read about it was the readme.txt
