Issue Summary
I use faq and faq_ask. Only permissions I have set for logged in users and guest is to ask question and to view faq. For logged in users in usermenu, the entry Create faq (URL: node/add/faq) shows up, when hitting the link they goto "permission denied" page.
Anyone can help me to get rid of this link for users that dont have permission to create the question?
The logged in users can also access the list of unanswared questions

Is this still an issue? What version of the faq_ask module are you using? Can you confirm the permissions available to logged in and anonymous users? Please include the permissions from the 'faq', 'faq_ask' and 'node' section for the permissions page. Thanks.
Cheers,
Stella

I am encountering this same issue, running Drupal 6.14 and Frequently Asked Questions 6.x-1.8, as well as FAQ_Ask 6.x-1.2. I have four roles: admin, editor, authenticated user and anonymous user. All roles should be able to access FAQ_Ask to submit questions, but only editors and admin can create/edit/delete answers. Authenticated users can create/edit/delete several types of custom nodes - Resource and Event. On the authenticated users' navigation menu, a Create Content parent menu item is listed. Under the menu are three items: Event, FAQ and Resource. Selecting the FAQ link gives you an Access denied error.
I've attached a screen shot of my permissions. The columns, right to left, are anonymous user, authenticated user, editor and admin.

I think this may be due to the 'faq ask' module. If you disable it, does the create faq link disappear from the menu? You may need to clear the Drupal cache to be sure.

Marking as won't fix as no more information forthcoming. Also a new version of faq released today: 6.x-1.9.
