I use your great module on WIP website and I'm really happy with it.
integration with views and panels works really fine !
one can put a map on a dedicated tab for example using view (and panels I think).

I also use cck, groupfields and tabs for the layout..

it could be great if your module worked like a cck field, this way one can put it in another tab for editing and for display too, bypassing a view or panels config ?

I believe this can be closed since CCK support is implemented and since the issue is very old. Reopen if I'm mistaken.
