Hi,

Everything is working well in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, but with IE, when you submit a weblink all the formatting is lost.

You can try it your self on www.thecarbonpig.com --> Under "You can Add these" in the nice menu on the side, then weblink.

Here is an example. View it in IE and another browser to understand the problem.

Anyone know how to fix this bug??

I'll pay you $5 to your paypal....I'm sure it's pretty easy....

If you figure it out post it here and use the contact form on www.thecarbonpig.com to let me know.....

Cheers,

The Carbon Pig

To many CSS style sheets for IE7 is the issue (more than 31) - its a known issue and easily fixed.

Go to Performance settings (admin/settings/performance) and switch on "Aggregate and compress CSS files" - that will fix your problem.

Really weird problem that doesn't have anything to do with weblinks.

I mirrored your page (as static files) at http://new.pillars.net/carbonpig/www.carbonpig.com/node/42.html

I then tried minor edits to both the html and css files until I got the page to display correctly in IE7 on Windows 2003 server.

The simplest change that makes the page display correctly is to move the stylesheet link for themes/ad_lemon-twist/style.css to the top.

Alternatively, removing *both* the taxonomy_vtn/taxonomy_vtn.css and aggregator/aggregator.css references fixed the problem.

I'm not sure what is conflicting, but I suspect it has something to do with the dynamic page-rewriting done by jquery, since a casual inspection of the static CSS files doesn't match what I'm seeing in Firebug.

As a simple workaround, I suggest you edit your page.tpl.php file to manually insert a link to your main stylesheet at the top of your header.

Without access to your server source I can't be more specific than that.

The site is loading 32 styles sheets for IE7. I would gather this is the issue.

Sorry, I misscounted.

One the pages that don't work there are 33/34 which is why I assume worked when the other poster removed several stylesheets (to get it to 31 or below), the pages that do work in IE7 you'll notice there is only 31 sheets loading.

I've never had this problem actually, but many other drupalers have, theres some good threads about it.

Hi jmburnz,

I tried changing the settings and will test it in the morning on my work computer (IE7). I'll let you know...if it works, you'll have to send me your paypal info.

Thanks,

The Carbon Pig

Well, now! Thanks for the education, jmburnz. I only wish I'd have bothered to reload the page before replying with my misinformed comments. Another tidbit for my toolbox....

@thecarbonpig - btw who did the graphic design for your site, I mean the background image with the flying pig? you have one of the best domain names I've heard this year, love it. let me know how the tests go, I surfed around a bit, looks good in IE7 from my end.

@pillarsdotnet, mate, I think whats really amazing is saying this... "there is only 31 sheets loading", thirty one styles sheets! Module and theme devs really have start thinking about combining the sheets into one. I know I should be, I'm guilty as charged for "probably" have too much abstraction in the CSS.

Thanks jmburnz!

Shoot me an email at thecarbonpig@thecarbonpig.com with your paypal info and I'll reward you with that $5.

On another note: Thanks for the compliment. The carbonpig design was done by one of my teamates. I launched this co. 6 months ago and we're getting ready to go BETA in a few more. We are a clothing line and a web portal.

I could use some help with creating a new field. One that is separate from the main box now on the site. One that sits above all that, is thin/lean, and houses the google search engine and a counter only. Think you could help with this?? $$ If not, any leads. My theme development knowledge is weak at best and were doing a lot of other things at the moment to get ready.

Cheers,

Matt
