Description
Hi Nicholas
Thank you for coming up with this very useful module,
but I'm having problem getting it to work.
I installed the module, and then went to Administer -> Site Configuration -> Taxonomy Quick Find
and added a block and select the Node Type, Vocabularies, Visibility Settings, etc.
Then I went to Site building -> Blocks to show the block in our content area, but
it did not show up.
I am using Drupal 6.4, and tried the Garland, Blue Marine and Four Seasons Themes.
The Quick Find block just didn't appear.
Thank you.

I will investigate... Thanks,

Same here...

Yep, me too

This is odd - it works for me.
Thoughts...
1) The TQF blocks ONLY appear on node pages...
2) If this was an upgrade then its possible you might need to remove the blocks and re-add them... The internal settings arrays have drastically changed in structure since the initial dev releases to the point where I couldn't create an upgrade path.
3) Could you post your settings for one of the broken blocks please, eg, what types and taxonomies are enabled? What are you node limits?
Thats all I can think of right now... Is this replicable on a clean install?

Hi Nicholas
Attached are screen shots showing the block settings.
Yes, it is replicable on a clean install.
No, it was not an upgrade.
Thank you.

Ok, I understand what u meant by 'show in node'.
Now I am seeing it but it says "no items found" (but there are items ).
see screen shot 10
thank you.

How do you accomplish the "show in node"?
This doesn't mean that I can't display this in panels as a block does it?
#8
cmgui: Thanks for the screenshots... The problem there is it looks like the block cannot find any terms for that page. In quickfind10.jpg I see the block has appeared which means you must be on a node page. I see from screenshot 2 that you have selects a maximum of 10 news node types and you only wanted to browse them by terms in the Function_Tags vocabulary.
Does this vocabulary have the news node type checked (ie, can you tag a new node as one of the terms from the Function_Tags vocab?)? If so - was the node you were looking at tagged with a term from this vocab?
spankteal: I think you might have misinterpreted the point of the module. This module is intended to allow quick browsing of other nodes which are also tagged with the same tags as the current node. A panel cannot be tagged.

I thought this was a block module that could display taxonomy terms as related to other nodes. You say what the vocabulary is then the end user selects a term from a dropdown and then get the same term results. If this can be put in a block why can't that block be put on a panels page with other content and then display the term results.

I'm also not having the block appear.
I have several user profiles created using content.profile.module
Each profile is tagged with at least one specialty and industry
The intent is for users to be able to view a subset of users by specialty and industry
Block is set to show up in the content area of node/5
node/5 is a page that also includes a block which has a menu listing all of the users, linking to their profiles
Vocabularies are set to type=Profile
Running on drupal v. 6.5
Block title: Search Member Directory
Block name: Search Member Directory
Profile limit=99 Weight =1
Vocabularies checked: Specialties, Industries
Visibility: users cannot control
Role visibility: all unchecked
Show on only listed page (node/5)

Excuse me if my question is stupid, but i want to ask you something. Is this module can use for this purpose: I have 4 vocabulary with some tems in - vocabulary are Country, City, Firm and Type of property. I want when user double click on Country then shows all cities in that country, and after that when user choose City to shows all of firms in that city and so on. Every vocabulary to be some block and can choose in series. I use drupal 5.11
Sorry and thank you for your answers

1. The TQF blocks ONLY appear on node pages... is this what you intended ?
2. On one of my nodes it does not appear. ( i have only 3 nodes on a new site ). I don't think this specific node it's somehow different than the other nodes.
