I added the media plugin to my toolbar, but I have problems with the different file formats being displayed properly.

1) mp3 files, instead of 1:30 only 1 or 2 sec are played
2) Neither .swf nor .flv videos are displayed at all. I can add a background, which is the only thing that shows up.
3) avi files run normally

Do I have add anything else to be able to show videos?

This version of TinyMCE is not supported anymore. The issue is closed for this reason.
Please upgrade to a supported version and feel free to reopen the issue on the new version if applicable.
