i've been playing with this for hours, actually pulled the other version from the acquia package earlier today, then just removed and put in your stand alone release...

in both instances, it's the best looking theme i've seen to date for d6!

...but in in both instances i am unable to see any of the tags associated with any story or node in either teaser or full view, even though they are there and the tag cloud correctly links through - the actual tags are gone..

sorry - to add to that, i saw some beautiful icons - but not are visible in the theme - would you mind explaining what they all related to? (like the calendar icon, etc)

You can control the way taxonomy terms are displayed on the theme's settings page: Administer > Themes > Acquia Marina "configure".
Clean URL: admin/build/themes/settings/acquia_marina
Scroll down to the "Node settings" section and click on the "Taxonomy terms" to expand the taxonomy terms settings. Here you will find the various options for displaying your site's taxonomy terms (e.g., display taxonomy terms on only full node pages, display format, and which vocabularies to display).
Please note that you must select which vocabularies to display in order for your terms to show.

In regard to the icons, there are extra icons that come with the theme that are not being used as default. They are there as a matching set for you to use as so desired (e.g., replace a default icon with one of the extras, use one for a custom block, etc).
