I have a site with two languages, and would like to have my flag multilingual.

I see two possibilities:

  • Having two flags with a language assigned to them, and showing only the relevant flag (per language).
  • Having a flag with translations, showing the relevant translation (per language).

Any of these are possible with the current version?

I don't think it's likely that #1 will happen, but #2 is currently being worked on. See #307810: Multilingual support for flagging, which would allow you to select an option to flag the "source node" that has been translated when flagging things, which would enable you to build a View of content with that flag in any language, regardless of which translation of the node was actually flagged.

    A workaround for case #2:

Using the "Translate interface" admin page I was able to find the strings used for flagging/unflagging/menu item name/etc and translate them to the second language. Now I have what I wanted partially: all the visible strings are bilingual.

Having #307810 finished will be a nice feature. Right now my user can flag the original page and the translation too - this is not the expected behaviour but it is also quite unlikely that my users would switch language during their session.

    Thanks for the great work!

Since this question is answered, I'm closing this support request. We're still working on #307810: Multilingual support for flagging.
